My own experiences of living with Klinefelter Syndrome, 47/XXY

Greetings!

There I was....redoing the entire upstairs of the house one summer vacation. Starting early and going until late at night, Not eating right or drinking enough fluids. The following week came along and it felt like I got hit by a truck. I felt very flu-like but no fever.

Went to the doc and he thought it was an infection of some kind so he gave me antibiotics. Back to the doc two weeks later and blood tests were next. Results returned about a week later and my testo levels were very low, and at 86 from a range of 300 to 1000. That's testosterone, by the way. Too much to spell each time I write about it.  Most call it "T".

Next on the doc list was an MRI to check for a brain tumor, namely the pituitary. All was ok, where he suggested I see an endocrinologist...and off I went. Got a blood test called a karyotype which showed I was actually born with another X chromosome. That's the female one.

Immediately following this diagnosis, I was placed on testo gel called Androgel. Worked pretty well for about two weeks until my BP began to elevate and lots of edginess and body hair began to appear.

KSXXY diagnosis

This condition was never tested for at birth in previous years, so there's quite a few of us who were diagnosed later in life due to different medical reasons.

Some are tested after having fertility problems.

My wife and I always wondered why we couldn't create, but took it for granted as it wasn't meant to be, so we were never tested.
